Mark J Peterson Art needed a full-commerce art platform that could present the work with restraint while still supporting real storefront operations. The experience pairs a direct gallery-forward frontend with account, checkout, email, image, shipping, and observability infrastructure built for production ownership.
The implementation uses a React 19 and Vite interface with React Router v7, Zustand state, and plain CSS on the frontend, backed by Express 5 and MongoDB Atlas with raw driver access, JWT sessions, and bcrypt authentication. Stripe payments, Resend email, Cloudinary image workflows, Shippo shipping, Sentry monitoring, Winston logging, Zod validation, and Vitest/RTL coverage support the operational side across Vercel and Railway.
